What are your thoughts on the aim, results, and implications of the study regarding the author's efforts to understanding and assessing the identified domains of sexual values highlighted in the study?

According to Wincze (2009), sexuality is a pressing issue that cuts across all ages. It mainly affects people from their teens. A therapist in the field has their personal views when it comes to sexuality. The therapist is human beings and has a right to own opinions. Their opinions are influenced by their culture, religion, and morals. Other things like political affiliation tend to hold water in personal beliefs when it comes to sexuality therapy. However, their views should not affect their work for they are professionals who are looked up to by people with sexual problems.

McCarthy (2015) says that the therapist must be open to views from all quarters. The therapist will meet people with challenges in sexuality. The challenges are incest, oral and masturbation, extramarital sex, premarital sex, sexually dysfunctional, sexual abuse and abortion among others. Each of the clients who visit a therapist has a particular view on the issue at hand. The therapist must ensure they offer to advise which is neutral. Their opinions should not influence the advice they offer but rather they should present matters in the most professional manner. The therapist should be objective and take issues as they are as challenges not as opinions.

The therapist should explore the issue at hand by going into depth (Wincze, 2009). They should aim at creating relationships to make their clients relax. That will ensure clients open more. Clients will not feel like they are being forced into a decision. Clients should feel they are getting a good deal that is not subjective. The therapist must be aware they are making a transformation in a client life and thus should invest professionalism. That should involve dedicating their lives to sexuality research to ensure they are objective in their work.

What were you most struck by?

According to McCarthy (2015), a religious therapist who holds to Protestant, Catholic and Jewish views are so subjective when it comes to homosexuality. The therapist shrugs off people with those challenges. It is worrying to see people who the community look up to for help trash them for they have negative beliefs towards some issues. That means clients will feel isolated by people who should be helping them. That means clients will not get help for the therapists have a personal view of how things should turn out to be in the case of an assistant. That will make clients with homosexuality challenges not seek help from therapists. Thus, religious therapist should be objective when it comes to homosexuality issue and detach their religious view for the benefit of the client.

Wincze (2009) says that Catholics therapists who put off customers who want to procure abortion may put their lives in danger. The clients may have had an abortion advised by a medical profession. A client who goes to a therapist may be to seek ways on how to handle a post-abortion period. Thus, by discouraging those from having an abortion may complicate their lives. That may make the clients devastated and make them commit suicide.

The conservative political therapist may lead to breakage of families (McCarthy, 2015). That is because they are of the view that marriage leads to limitations in freedoms. That may be a way of discouraging marriage among single persons. It may encourage separation and divorce among people who are married. That is because their advice is subjective. Thus, there is a need to exercise liberal professional views by being open to all individuals.
